Fitting & Installation Instructions

The Whirlpool/Spa system you are about to install has been carefully assembled and fully water and electrically tested at our factory. Please check for any signs of transit damage to pipework or components prior to installation.

DO NOT LIFT THE BATH BY OR REST THE BATH ON THE PIPEWORK

This product has been water tested prior to dispatch – claims for leaks caused by damage to pipework cannot be considered.
 
The positioning of the pump and pipework has been pre-set.
 
Fix bath in position as per normal.
 
Make sure that the tube from the pneumatic on/off switch to the pump air switch (located in the control box) is in position.
 
The system is now installed and when the power supply has been connected the system can be tested.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

All electrical connections should be carried out by a qualified electrician and electrical wiring and ancillary equipment must conform to British Standards and CE.

The power supply can run from 2 sources:

  1. Source 1: From the main circuit board run correctly sized twin and earth cable to a residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) situated outside of the bathroom. Continue the cable into the bathroom and connect to pump. 

  2. Source 2: From your socket ring main (13amp) run correctly sized twin and earth cable to a residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) situated outside the bathroom. Continue the cable into the bathroom as above.

Please ensure that the fuse in a fused spur is 13amp for all pumped whirlpool systems. Should you have an air spa only system then a 5amp fuse is sufficient.

OPERATION

Gently pressing a button in the centre of the control sends a movement of air to the pneumatic air switch situated in the pump control box. This starts and stops the whirlpool system. When the pump has started it sucks water via the suction inlet and re-circulates it back through the jets fitted to the side of the bath.

These jets have an eyeball which can be adjusted so that the water can be directed to various parts of the body.

The whirlpool action can be adjusted by opening the air control which increases or decreases the amount of air in the turbulence and adjusts the massage from gentle to invigorating.

Please note that the system should not be run dry as this may result in pump failure. To ensure the system is not run when the bath is empty, switch off at the circuit breaker after use.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

In order to maximize the efficiency of your system and for hygiene purposes a whirlpool cleaner must be used on a regular basis (we recommend every 4 to 6 weeks). After each use a sterilising tablet should be used.

Household disinfectants and bleaches are not recommended as they could cause damage to the pump.

Whirlpool cleaners and aromatherapy products should be available through your supplier.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Pneumatic on/off control, air control, suction inlet with drain down, venturi jets with air/water mix, approved pump - CE, IP55.

TESTING INSTRUCTIONS

The whirlpool bath you have just installed has been fully water and electrically tested prior to leaving the factory.

  1.    Please ensure all building debris and dust is carefully removed from bath.
  2.    Fill bath approximately 1 ½” to 2” above the level of the highest jet.
  3.    Close air control and switch on system by pressing pneumatic on/off button.
  4.    Run the system and check for leaks on the pump connection unions, open air control to allow air into system.
  5.    When satisfied all is correct fit bath panel as per manufacturer’s instructions.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Pump will not run – check all electrical connections and pneumatic air tube between pump and on/off.

Pump hum – loose wiring, check terminal connections and correct cable size.

System runs but excessive vibration – pump base insecure or incorrect pump height putting stress on pipework.

Leaks from pump unions – check that ‘O’ rings are seated in the correct position and re-tighten.

If after completing all tests you need technical help please ring your supplier.

Should a site visit be necessary to commission or correct a non -manufacturing problem an engineer will attend at a cost of £146.00 plus parts as needed. (Some areas such as islands will incur a surcharge.)
